In addition to your own training sessions, the organising committee have planned a series of progressive training walks starting from August.


The training walk programme is designed to condition your body to long distance walking, familiarise yourself with the actual route, and also to learn to pace yourselves for the walk.

Registration

  • Registration for the training walks must be made online.
  • Registration closes 3 days before each training session
  • You can register for your friends, but remember to relay important messages to them as we only have the registrant's contact information.
  • Should any training walks be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make our best effort to inform all participants through the contact information given during registration.
  • You don't have to be a registered participant to participate for the training! Everyone is welcome!
  • If you think you're not up to the full distance for the training walk, you are welcome to join us for just part of it!

 

Tips

  • As some of the training stretches to a full day, please have sufficient rest.
  • Drink sufficient water before and during training to avoid dehydration.
  • Arrive early as a warmup and important briefing session will be given
  • Find at least a buddy to walk with!

  1. Small backpack
  2. Water Bottle/Reservoir (Camelbak), at least 500ml
  3. Small towel
  4. Umbrella (Extra shade)
  5. Raincoat/poncho (in case of bad weather)
  6. Small amount of cash (for lunch)
  7. Ezlink Card (to go home from end point)
  8. Handphone

Optional:

  1. Camera (to record your journey towards 100km)
  2. Change of clothes
  3. Powder (for longer distances)
  4. Blinking light/Lightstick (For night walks)

 

During the walk

  • Please note that there is no support (Medical/drinks/food, etc) during the training.
  • Stay close to the group and look out for each other's safety.
  • Walk on the designated pavements.
  • Observe traffic rules
  • If you are not feeling well, please inform the organizers
  • It is possible to fall out of the training at any point in time if you choose to do so.
  • In the event of a heavy downpour during the training, we will wait for the rain to subside before proceeding.
  • The organizers reserve the right to cancel the training if the safety of the participants is deemed compromised
