This briefing is compulsory for the 50km PowerWalkers and 100km ExtremeWalkers. We would need at least one person from each team to be present. Groups with no representatives for this final briefing will be disqualified from the actual walk.
Route Briefing for 100km PowerWalk & 50km PowerWalk
We will give a briefing about the two routes, 100km ExtremeWalk and the 50km PowerWalk, locations of toilet points and checkpoints and important points to note at some of the route checkpoints. He will also share insights and simple tips about how best to gear yourself for the walk.
Collection of bibs & event booklet
During this session, all walkers will be able to collect their Let's Take A Walk bibs for their teams and the walk booklets, which details the routes of the two endurance walks.
Outstanding Payments & Cheque Donations
For those who have yet to make your payment for your team's registration, we will be able to accept outstanding payments on the spot. If you have pledged donations from your friends, relatives and colleagues, you can pass the cheques to us on this briefing day as well.
Draft letter for walkers to rally for pledged donations
The Organising Committee has prepared a draft letter that you can send out to your contacts to rally them to pledge donations in support of your participation in this meaningful charity walkathon. Check out the Let's Take A Walk 2010 facebook page link for the draft letter that you can use to email to your friends, colleagues and relatives.
T-shirt Sale
We will also be selling the long-awaited Let's Take A Walk 2010 t-shirt ($12 each) at this briefing session. 300 t-shirts are available for sale on a first come, first served basis, whilst stocks last. The remaining t-shirts will be sold during the actual Let's Take A Walk 2010 event on 18 and 19 December. If the t-shirts were sold out, interested walkers can still place an order for the t-shirt after the event. If the total number of t-shirt order is substantial, more t-shirts can be printed and the collection of your t-shirt can be arranged at one of the Asia Malls (actual venue to be confirmed), along with the certificate of completion/participation. The T-shirt design and the size chart is available here. There will be no online sale of T-shirt this year.
Special Tour of Boys' Town by Boys' Town Volunteers
After the briefing, volunteers at Boys' Town will be there to give free tours of their premises for interested Let's Take A Walk participants.
The elves behind the planning of the charity walkathon will all be present to meet our walkers and answer any burning questions. This briefing session will also be a great platform for you to meet fellow like-minded walkers and exchange tips. It's the final event leading to the actual walk. We hope you can make it for this final briefing.
